Snow Plowing

Fitchburg crews plow all municipal streets within the city. County roads, and US Highways are plowed by Dane County, Private roads are plowed by their owners.

Mail Box Damage

Snow removal operations occasionally damage mailboxes. If the mailbox was installed and maintained according to current City standards and was damaged from being struck by the snow plow, Public Works may repair the damage or you may receive some reimbursement. See Mailbox Damage Policy. If the mailbox was not constructed or maintained to current standards, the repairs will be the homeowner’s responsibility.

Alternate Side Parking

Between November 15 and March 15, no person may park any vehicle between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on the even numbered side of the street on the odd numbered calendar days, and on the odd numbered side of the street on the evened numbered calendar days.
