Youth Sports Newsletter

The Recreation Dept. sends out a youth sports newsletter via email on a bi-weekly basis. To be added to the listing to receive the most current youth sports news, including: program registration information, email Chad Sigl.

Summer Playground Programs

Gather some friends and join our Playground Leaders for some fun in the sun at either Wildwood South Prairie Park, Tower Hill Park, or Jamestown Park. Participants will enjoy group games, arts & crafts and sports. Click on a specific park location below for detailed information.

Half-Day Summer Camps

Each week campers will participate in a variety of activities that center around the particular theme for the week. Camp themes are listed below. Camp is held at McKee Farms Park from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Participants should meet at the shelter each day.

Arts & Crafts Programs

Various arts & crafts programs are being offered this summer. Click on a program below for detailed information inluding age requirements for each program.

Meet Me @ the Park (3-5 yrs)

Join us for these fun and educational, theme-based programs in the Fitchburg Park System this summer.  Programs will include games, stories, and a craft or snack, all related to the day’s theme.  Pre-registration is required.  Children must have a parental participant.  Please meet at the Park Shelter. Programs held from 9:30 am - 10:15 am. Click on a program below for further information.

Youth Tennis Lessons

Youth tennis lessons are being offered this summer. Lessons are held on Mondays & Wednesdays at McKee Farms Park. Session One runs from June 11 - July (No Class on July 2 & 4). Session Two runs from July 16 - August 8. Lessons cancelled due to inclement weather will be made up on Fridays. Click on age group below for further information.

British Soccer Camps (July 16-20)

Fitchburg Recreation has teamed up with Challenger Sports to again offer British Soccer Camps July 16-20 for boys and girls ages 3 - 13 years old. Camps will be held at McKee Farms Park. British Soccer Camps provide players of all abilities with the opportunity to receive high-level soccer coaching from a team of international experts. Each day includes individual foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, small-sided games and coached scrimmages. Camp programs include a free ball and shirt and a free British Soccer jersey for on line registrations 45 days prior to camp!

Camp KidStage - Where Every Kids a Star (July 16-20)

Kids will participate in a variety of drama activities and games which are used to enhance:  teamwork, self-confidence, creative problem-solving, concentration, improvisation and much more.  Throughout the week kids will audition, rehearse, and assist in creating costumes and props for a final showcase to be performed for family and friends. Youth Martial Arts Classes

The Fitchburg Recreation Department has again teamed up with Kicks Unlimited to offer Martial Arts classes. Classes are designed to be an introduction to martial arts in a relaxed atmosphere. For questions regarding class content, please contact Kicks Unlimited @ 288-846 or visit www.kicksunlimited.net. $55 for one child or $100 for two, if you have two please call 270-4285 to register.

Youth Volleyball Programs

Fitchburg Recreation has teamed up with SWAT (Southern Wisconsin Area Teams) sports to offer various youth volleyball programs throughout the year.

American Red Cross Babysitter Traning Classes

We are offering the Babysitter Traning Class on a couple of different dates this summer. The class, taught by the American Red Cross, will provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. Please bring a bag lunch.

NFL Flag Football (Fall)

Registration is now open for our Fall NFL Flag Football Program. Program will begin approximately the 3rd week of August and end in late October. Click on a division below for further information.

Youth Dance Survey
