Earth Day
Earth Day, founded by former Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson, falls on April 22 every year. In Fitchburg, members of the community have commemorated this day by volunteering to plant trees, mulch planting areas, spread playground surface material, and clean up parks, waterways and other public properties.
In 2013, the Parks Department will not be holding an organized park clean-up event on a particular day. However, neighborhood groups and other community groups can stil organize their own activities and coordinate with our department. These activities typically take place in April or May. Contact Ed Bartell to set up your own work day.
